New York, NY (Money Pit News Bureau - December 8, 2009) - While 2009 may go down as a year many home builders would like to forget, a renewed focus on home remodeling and energy efficiency has fueled record growth for the nationally syndicated home improvement radio show The Money Pit. Hosts Tom Kraeutler and Leslie Segrete added 60 new radio stations to the show’s 228 station line up in the last 11 months, marking the biggest growth year in the show’s 10 year history.
In an economy where homeowners are looking to repair, improve and preserve their investments and seeking information on tax-credit-driven efficiencies, The Money Pit delivers timely home improvement advice to avid listeners and invaluable product exposure to sponsors of the weekly two-hour syndicated radio show and podcast.
“The Money Pit is one of the few marketing tools we use to reach consumers directly,” says Sara Alcroft, Brand Manager for Therma-Tru Doors. “Utilizing the third-party expertise of show hosts Tom and Leslie provides a really powerful endorsement for our brand.”
Clement Feng, Chief Marketing Officer at generator manufacturer Generac, concurs. “From the research we’ve seen it is clear that The Money Pit has driven awareness and sales for Generac. Tom and Leslie are creative and effective partners that know how to engage and inspire their growing audience of consumers interested in improving and maintaining their homes.”
From Bozeman to Syracuse and from Canada to the Virgin Islands, The Money Pit’s extensive broadcast reach, entertaining style and innovative marketing opportunities delivered a win-win for home improvers and retailers offering the products they need to accomplish their home improvement goals, as well as for the radio stations which carry the program.
“In an economy where few could afford to move, The Money Pit has been an invaluable resource for listeners looking to make their homes more comfortable, energy efficient and affordable. The show is an important part of our line-up, and is popular with both listeners and the local sponsors looking to reach them,” said Paul Giammarco, Program Director for Money Pit affiliate WPRO in Providence, RI.
The show which is now heard on 228 radio stations across the nation, as well as on XM Satellite Radio, celebrated its 10th year in syndication in October. The Money Pit also launched a new multi-media website at MoneyPit.com and a cross promotional partnership featuring weekly appearances by the experts of TV’s This Old House.
“Leslie and I are really in the ‘money pit’ prevention business,” said host and founder Tom Kraeutler. “This past year more than ever, many consumers have been feeling those ‘money pit moments’ as they decided to stay home and improve what they had. We’re fortunate to have been able to help them do just that, and hopefully have a little fun along the way to keep things in proportion.”
The Money Pit looks forward to continued expansion in 2010, and offers comprehensive, customized media partnerships to sponsors and affiliates. For more information on national program schedules and marketing opportunities, please contact Warren Banholzer at 212-545-8383 or visit Money Pit Media.
